Monteux School and Music Festival
The Monteux School and Music Festival, founded as a school for conductors in 1943 by internationally renowned conductor Pierre Monteux, is one of the finest summer training programs and festivals of its kind. The school offers an intensive six week program that includes a series of symphonic, chamber and children’s concerts in a creative, supportive environment. Weekly concerts are supplemented by Masterclasses and Audition Workshops with musicians from major symphony orchestras. Alumni have gone on to successful careers in the orchestral, opera and education fields throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
I will participate as a percussionist in the Monteux Festival Orchestra for the 78th Season of the Monteux School and Music Festival in Hancock Maine.
We Look to the Stars
The world premiere of Dr. Juhhi Bansal’s full-length cantata, We Look to the Stars. The performance, featuring artists from LA Opera plus students and faculty from Pasadena City College and Caltech, draws on myths and writings from different cultures and is part of LA Opera's county-wide festival celebrating its new opera, Eurydice. I will be appearing as a percussion soloist.
